The site of LNER has been a source of "refreshment" since 1923 when the London North East Railway (LNER) train drivers and engineers would stop for a cup of tea at what was then, no more than a tin shed!

Over the past hundred years LNER has been a positive part of the local community, it has been home to a variety of sports teams including Darts, Pool, a Cricket team (whose pavilion once stood on the site of the current children's playground) and is now home to several successful Football teams across a range of age. groups.
